Vegan Breakfast Sausage Recipe – Gluten Free
1 cup TVP
1 tsp Italian seasoning
3/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
Pepper to taste
1 1/2 cups water
1/2 cup mashed black beans
1/4 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup flaxmeal
1 tsp liquid smoke
1. Add the TVP, Italian seasoning, salt, smoked paprika, pepper, and water to a bowl. Mix until well combined. Let sit for 5 minutes.
2. Add the mixture to a blender or food processor and add in the mashed beans, syrup, flaxmeal, and liquid smoke. Blend until well combined but still a bit chunky.
3. Heat a pan with 2 tablespoons of oil to medium/high heat. Form the mixture into a patties with your hand and place onto the heated pan. Cook for 3-5 minutes, flip, and cook another 3-5 minutes or until firm and browned.
